Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares simple and easy to master cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the geography. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating at an early age. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy, Chef Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face difficulties. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She travels frequently around the United States in her position as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to be able communicate with people what is truly important to her.
