Alinity appeared in a lawsuit against Twitch. Erik Estavillo, a Twitch user who is from California filed a civil lawsuit for damages of $25 million from Twitch in connection with the exposure to "overly explicit and sexually explicit content of female streamers" during their use of the site. According to court records discovered by Dexerto, the plaintiff, who has previously sued Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment, presented an official complaint to the court on June 15 seeking to file a suit, and Twitch was served an formal summons on June 19. Estavillo is, as stated in the Santa Clara Superior Court of California complaint filed, suffers from a number of medical issues that require him to rely on the Internet for his entertainment. He is also suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as a sexual addiction. According to the suit, Twitch makes these issues even more difficult. The complaint continued to identify a variety of female streamers who it believes "continues to make available viewers who are just looking to catch players playing games on Twitch, but instead get confronted by sexually addictive materials and other content on a regular regularly and daily basis." Alinity was not listed. The complaint seeks relief, the company wants to permanently ban all streamers that violate Twitch Terms of Service. A total of $25 million is asked for, "to be divided between plaintiffs and other Twitch prime Turbo Subscribers" while the remaining funds will go to charitable organizations.
